The crystal skulls were first launched in 2005 as part of an installation baron did entitled Dead or Alive, for Swarovski Crystal Palace during Art Basel, Miami. The aim was to transform and elevate the perception of the skull. Traditionally the symbol of death and danger, the translucent aura created by fashioning each skull from Swarovski crystals creates a desirable object of beauty.
