Rough Diamonds is the brainchild of jeweller Maya Bjørnsten whose love for raw diamonds was first formed when her husband returned from a trip to Antwerp, Belgium (the jewel in the crown of the world diamond business), with hundreds of photographs of the most beautiful, multi-coloured rough diamonds.

“Love it like it is,” became Bjørnsten’s MO. - just the way Mother Nature intended. As Bjørnsten explains - to create a diamond you need carbon, enormous pressure, extreme heat and lots of time (between 35 million and 1 billion years in fact). These objects of desire are formed about 200 km below the earth’s surface and very slowly rise up.

“When we eventually find something so unique and so rare as a diamond, one is immediately captivated by its raw natural beauty,” says Bjørnsten. “It makes you wonder how anyone could change a raw diamond”
These earrings are made from 2.04 carats of rough diamonds in 14k glossy gold.
