Richard Weston
Nebula Agate Satin Silk Covered Journal
GBP 38
Richard Weston has always had a passion for geology and especially the patterns, colours and complexities of nature. But what really got him started on the road to fashion fame was using a home scanner to create images of his vast collection of minerals and rocks. Tiger’s Eye, Ocean Jasper, Picasso Stone – the names themselves are evocative of something out of the ordinary, yet are in fact, very much of this world. You may also remember his unearthing on Liberty's reality-show Britain's Next Big Talent.
Weston's scarves are printed on the banks of Lake Como in Italy, by the same family business that prints Hermès and Liberty scarves. The edges are also hand sewn.
The journals are covered with pure silk, digitally printed in Italy and traditionally stitched and bound by hand in Wales. They are all embossed with the Weston Logo on the inside cover, together with a description of the relevant mineral on the back page. The paper inside is of a high standard being plain, cream cartridge paper. Nebula agates are formed when molten silicates fill the voids in volcanic rocks, and the cracks add character and a unique natural beauty. Brown end papers.
144 pages.
