Richard Weston
Brazilian Silver Agate Scarf
GBP 165
Richard Weston has always had a passion for geology and especially the patterns, colours and complexities of nature. But what really got him started on the road to fashion fame was using a home scanner to create images of his vast collection of minerals and rocks. Tiger’s Eye, Ocean Jasper, Picasso Stone – the names themselves are evocative of something out of the ordinary, yet are in fact, very much of this world. You may also remember his unearthing on Liberty's reality-show Britain's Next Big Talent.
Weston's scarves are printed on the banks of Lake Como in Italy, by the same family business that prints Hermès and Liberty scarves. The edges are also hand sewn.
This bold scarf is made from an image of Brazilian agate, a silica-based mineral formed in voids in volcanic rocks.
