Hannah Martin
Stabbed Pearl Earring
GBP 510
London jewellery designer Hannah Martin is a self-proclaimed collector of all things beautiful, luxurious and, just to mix it up, even the somewhat macabre. Her unique twist on the well-established fine jewellery world is to create masculine pieces for men - that are also in danger of being stolen by their in-the-know girlfriends. With Martin’s touch, cufflinks and signet rings become contemporary collectibles, as gold spurs finish tough, black Akoya pearl necklaces. Having trained at Central St Martins, she founded the brand in 2005, after a stint at Cartier in Paris’ Place Vendôme.
Each tactile piece is made by hand using London’s finest craftsmen - both in Martin’s Clerkenwell studio and through an intricate network of specialists in Hatton Garden (the centre of London’s jewellery trade).
This stabbed pearl earring contains one Tahitian pearl and is stabbed through its heart by 18k rose gold and is intended for use in a single ear. The inky-black of the natural Tahitian pearl is complemented by the pink hues of the rose gold spear.
The earrings are priced and sold singly.
Only 500 of these will ever be made.
This piece is made from 3 g of 18k rose gold. The naturally black Tahitian pearl is approximately 9 mm.
Size: 19 mm (stabbed hook height), 3.5 mm (width).
